Positive Input Ventilation (PIV)
Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) and and Multiple Input Ventilation (MIV®) systems create fresh and healthy living environments by supplying fresh, filtered air into a property at a continuous rate.
Our MIV and PIV units help to eliminate surface condensation, prevent mould growth and reduce house dust mite populations. The Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) units also offer a wide range of energy saving and health benefits. What’s more, our positive input ventilation units are ideal for retrofit projects and come complete with 5 year renewable warranties.
The PIV & MIV units create a healthy living environment throughout a property and are our most popular method of whole house ventilation.
System 5
The Building Regulations Part F includes other systems that are certified by the BBA and state:
“Other ventilation systems and devices, perhaps following a different strategy (e.g. Positive Input Ventilation) may provide acceptable solutions, provided it can be demonstrated to the Building Control Body (e.g. by a BBA Certificate) that they meet Requirement F1.”
The EnviroVent Range of Positive Input Ventilation systems are accredited with BBA certification: 03/4043. These are sophisticated whole house ventilation systems, which dilute, displace and replace high humidity levels to control condensation and mould growth.
Trickle vents are not required, provided that the whole house ventilation rate is met in Table 5.1B of Part F. It is recommended that extract fans are installed if there is a remote wet zone that is located away from a central hallway.
Positive Input Ventilation is an all year round system that is a cheaper option than heat recovery ventilation. Systems can also be extremely energy efficient, taking advantage of the benefit of solar gain from the loft space and providing heat distribution.
This can save around 10% of annual heating costs per year. With lower humidity levels, the dust mite population is also reduced, a major trigger for asthma sufferers. Indoor air quality is improved to transform a stale, humid atmosphere into a fresh, healthy, condensation-free environment.
System 5 - Ventilation Solutions:
PIV Loft Mounted Unit
The PIV Loft Mounted Unit gently ventilates the home from a central position on the landing in a house or the central hallway in a bungalow to transform a stagnant and stale atmosphere into a fresh, healthy and condensation free environment.
PIV Air Source
Beyond traditional input ventilation, the PIV Air Source has the facility to source cooler air from outside the building when the temperature in the loft space rises above 25°C. Detecting the rise in temperature, the unit starts to draw air from atmosphere via a temperature controlled diverter mechanism.
MIV Loft Mounted Unit
Building on the principles of the hugely successful and established EnviroVent PIV systems, the MIV® Loft Mounted Unit has been designed and developed to launch a totally new and innovative technology - Multiple Input Ventilation (MIV®).
MIV Air Source
The MIV® Air Source takes maximum advantage of the benefits of solar gain from the loft space throughout the year. Solar gain is the natural accumulation of heat from the sun on bright days.
Wall Mounted Unit
The Wall Mounted Unit is designed to provide whole home ventilation and eradicate condensation from homes without a loft space.
